Privacy
Music Brain is created by Ulrich Frerk with Morgan Sibbald. Your information is held by UM Limited, a New Zealand company. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- No account and no sign in for visitors. The map, the brain and the taste page show the owner's own music: his taste notes, his picks and his listening data, published on purpose.
- If you ask for a print with "Make this my artwork": your name, email, note and the starting point you chose. They are emailed to us and a private copy is kept so we can reply.
- If you send feedback: your messages, your email only if you give it, a few details about the page you were on (view, device type, screen size) and a screenshot only if you tick the box (that goes by email and is not stored). The feedback chat runs on Claude through Amazon Bedrock in Australia.
- Your IP address is used for a short time to stop abuse and is not stored with your request. Display settings (like sound or background) stay in your own browser. No tracking cookies, no analytics.
Why
Only to run Music Brain: to make the print you ask for, to read your feedback, to keep the service secure and to reply when you contact us. We keep the minimum the service needs.
Where it is kept
On Amazon Web Services in Australia (Sydney). Print requests, feedback, the emails we send and the daily usage counters are handled and kept there, and the feedback chat uses Amazon Bedrock in Australia. The public pages hold nothing about you and are delivered through Amazon CloudFront. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest. There is no account and no sign in.
What we never do
We don't sell your information, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't train AI models on it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@digitalcodeart.app and we'll reply within 20 working days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
